Non-Profit Groups Supported by Our Artists

Catskill Animal Sanctuary

Catskill Animal Sanctuary is a 105-acre haven for abused or abandoned horses and farm animals, including pigs, goats, sheep, rabbits, chickens, ducks, and turkeys. Once appropriate medical and emotional care is given, healthy animals are then up for adoption to community members who meet rigorous standards. So far, roughly 400 animals have been at CAS since its barn doors opened four years ago, with 120 in residence now. CAS also serves as a resource for information, lectures, and classes on the environmental and ethical issues of factory farming and meat-eating. CAS is supported by over 2,000 members nationwide and 80 dedicated volunteers.

Club Veg

Our mission is to educate the public, health care professionals, and health organizations about the benefits of a healthy vegetarian lifestyle. We table at health fairs and other community events and put on our own events such as the Great American Meatout. Club VEG also offers speakers for presentations to medical professionals, schools, community groups and work-site programs. We provide resources and referrals to the many people calling us who are looking to change their diet when they are diagnosed with heart disease, cancer and diabetes, or those who wish to do all they can to prevent these diseases in the first place. We also provide resources to those who are changing their diets to reduce animal suffering and environmental destruction.

Farm Sanctuary

Farm Sanctuary operates coast-to-coast shelters and a national rescue and adoption network that is directly saving and providing lifelong care for thousands of rescued farm animals. They wage groundbreaking campaigns and investigations which have resulted in the USA's first cruelty convictions of stockyards, factory farms and slaughterhouses.

Farm Sanctuary helped to pass the first ever laws banning cruel factory farming practices and the abuse of "downed" animals (animals too sick or weak to even stand).

Farm Sanctuary also educates millions of people about farm animal suffering through extensive media projects and national news features, humane education and internships, shelter visitor programs, conferences, and other education and outreach projects.

NPRX
"Like a Holocaust Memorial at the Gates of Auschwitz in 1944, the National Primate Research Exhibition Hall makes the clear statement that what is occurring in these labs across the country and the world is wrong and must be stopped. Situated between the historic and infamous Harry H. Harlow Primate Psychology building and the National Institutes of Health's Wisconsin National Primate Research Center in Madison, Wisconsin, the National Primate Research Exhibition Hall will put the realities of life behind the brick walls of the nations' primate laboratories on public display. It's permanent presence and clear voice will be impossible to ignore."

Vegan Outreach

Vegan Outreach promotes a vegan lifestyle (or any steps in that direction) primarily through distribution of our brochures, Why Vegan? and Try Vegetarian. We focus on reaching college and high school students with Why Vegan?, particularly through our Adopt a College program. We use Try Vegetarian for older audiences. To date, we have sent over 3 million brochures to volunteers who have requested them for distribution.

Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary

Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary is a newly formed non-profit organization located in Woodstock, NY with a mission to educate the public about the treatment of animals used for food. The shelter takes in cows, pigs, chickens, goats, sheep, turkey and other farm animals who are rescued from factory farms and negligent farmers. It is a place where people can come face to face with the animals that most call “dinner” and learn about the devastating effects of modern-day agribusiness on the animals, the environment and human health. Educational farm tours will begin in 2006.
